Default Which tune for tr cam?

I was wondering which would be the safest tune for a tr 224 224 112 cam. I know a dyno tune is the best, but would a nelson tune work well, or is that cam too big to mail order a tune?? Please respond!
Thanks,
Derek

I would not consider mail order tune with that cam in a 4.8. JMHO.

no. hes just saying that cam is a little big for the lack of displacement... you just need a big stall.. like 3000+

actually.. the best place to get a mail order tune from for that specific application would be nelson bc like stated earlier... he has 01thunders (and i guess mine now) on file.. and i know that 01thunder got tuned personally... im not sure if it was done by logging or on a dyno.. but his wasnt guess and check, 01thunder's tune was percise and just about perfect iunderstand.. so youll be fine going with nelson on this one....

however, if you have a local dyno that tunes for our trucks.. go there so u can get some numbers while your at it And of course, a dyno is even more perscise

Exactly a smaller cam might give you similar results and with less headaches. Dont get me wrong it is near borderline and why not go for it. But a smaller like a 220 might be better. But just like slow said the no matter how big your cam... if you dont have displacement you just will not benifit as much.

its a standard so idling shouldnt be as big of a problem. the 224 is the only cam ive seen put a 4.8 into the 13's. with an open exhaust it definately sounds nasty good with the 4.8
