tune, and converter tuning
#1
im gonna keep it simple as possible. my truck in sig prior to converter, fresh tranny, and cal speed headers and y pipe ran a best of 2.365 60 ft, 6.537 330ft, 9.353 594 ft, and a 9.979 1/8th mile at 71.90 mph. all on a agressive wideband logged hp tuners 93 tuned.
well tonight after circle d 3200 278mm, cal speed headers and y pipe, transgo hd2, and new s&b intake it ran a 2.182 60 ft, 6.495 330 ft, 9.358 594 ft, and a 10.003 at 69.75 mph.
we logged and tuned on it for a few hours prior to going to the track, out of the hole launching in 4 hi then switching to 2 hi as soon as i leave, just like the previous 9.979 run in the same da, humidity, temp, its slower all around the board. it doesnt fell as it pulls up top to the end of 2nd like it use to? we added timing, lowerd timing, lowered shift points, raised shift points, added fuel, leaned it out a bit, and no change really. new o2's and the st/lt fuel trims were pretty much spot on. mph is off atleast 2 mph slower, 60 ft is about .2 faster?
am i missing something in the transmission tuning part? we moved the part throttle lock up a few mph for light throttle crusing? any pointers would be greatly appricated.

i just ordered it new from circle d. the 278mm 3200 reworked 11" trail blazer converter. i plan to add the cam in my sig in the future or something very similar. i figured the headers alone would of atleast picked it up a .1-.2 not slow it down fwiw.

I understand what you're saying. I'd expect to see some short-time gains too if I was in your shoes. But I've seen cases where people buy used converters, that aren't actually well-matched for their setups, and get poor results. That was just the first question that popped into my head when I read your OP.
Any chance you have datalogs that you can post or PM of the before or after runs? Maybe there would be something there that we could point out.
What RPM does your CD brake stall, and flash stall to?

it'll foot brake about 2700, and flash about 3200-3300 in 2 wheel drive. my buddy does my tuning, hes been tuning about 7-8 years and has a few 6 sec all motor camaros. we use a innovative(sp) wideband also. ill have him send me some logs when i talk to him again. it leaves really good compared to prior converter, just falls off up top. weird.

In all fairness, you did drop .2 off your 60 ft, and had almost the same time to 500 ft. After that it seems like something is off, dunno if it's tune related, or if its a 'verter efficiency issue. I do know that the modded TB converters aren't as effiecient as a full built billet converter with all the good stuff can be.

I'm in the process of getting some logs. Anybody have any ideas in the mean time? I know it's begging for a set of 58cc tsp 2.5 heads, and a tsp 220 on a 112. I just feel it should have picked up .2-.3 on the big end. Seems to quit pulling/going flat about 5300-5900 right before the 1-2 shift. It didn't appear to do this with the stock converter and 6100 shift points before.
