Default trouble codes????????

today i went to get my state inspection done and my truck did not pass. . there was two codes that came up p0102 and p0300. i know that p0300 is a multiple ramdom misfire and ive changed the plugs and wires and the truck seems to run fine but the code still comes up. what is p0102. and any ideas on how to get rid of these codes so i can pass my inspection.

p0102 is a MAF code. Which if you aren't 2bar or anything screwy in your tune, then the p0300 is a direct result of the maf f-ing up. p0102 is low frequency maf code. Do search on here on how to clean the maf, clean it carefully with no oily residues, reset your pcm, get thru the drive cycles (drive for a couple weeks) and go back. If the code comes back (p0102) something is wrong in relation to the maf.

last week i installed a volant intake and forgot to plug in the MAF sensor . As soon as i turned on the truck the check engine light came on, and i relized that i had forgot to plug it back in. I pluged it in and the light turned off a while after. i dont have any lights on yet these codes showed up when i went to pass the inspection. do i have to clear the codes or do they clear themselves.

the pcm SHOULD do a sanity check on the maf every key turn. ask wheatley if he messed with your maf SES and MIL settings. Just do a reset to get rid of the misfire crap. I'd still clean the maf for ***** and giggles. May not need it, but it won't hurt.

i believe a autozone or something can read them for free, they may be able to reset. But yeah, unhook it for more than 5 minutes. Unhooked the battery and go have dinner or something. It may idle funny and run a little wierd if you have huge fuel trim differences, but that'll do it.

well i have to take my truck back by tuesday to see if it passes inspection. I cant get a hold of Charlie to see if its in the tune . so i just cleaned the MAF and reset the codes yesterday. hopefully that was the only problem.

how long after driving the truck should the code come show back up, if they do come back??

Here in MD you need to have passed 80% or more of your readiness tests as well. That will NOT happen if you reset the codes and then go to inspection station. You need to drive around for a week or so. Or follow the GM drive cycle steps on OBDII.com.

MAF codes will come up pretty quick.
