Depends ... if you up the line pressure and firm up the shifts a little, I think it would be OK to remove it all. You had better take the precations though. The tranny NEEDS to shift better if you remove TQM though.

I have been using HPTuners on my 4x4 Tahoe for about 10 months and have done many scans and tweaks to my tune. The only time TM gets in my way is during shifts. There are two areas of TM, one for the transmission and one for the engine. After trying different settings, including no TM at all, I'm running 50% less TM for the transmission and left the engine TM stock. On my Tahoe, the TM kicks in only for an instant before and during the shift and then its gone. I imagine if your engine is putting out a lot of power that you would need to reduce the engine TM also. I also pumped up my shift pressures to improve the feel during shifts.

It's also coming into play under normal driving, it just doesn't show as obvious on a scan as it does during the shifts.

From a dig is very noticable too.

I can't even spin the tires with the torque management om my 06. I heard the superchips programmer can eleminate up to 80% but I've been looking at the Jet programmer too.

Upping line pressure isnt the best way to help the transmission if you remove tq management. It would be a better idea to install a shift kit instead.

Kill engine TM not all of Trans TM if you want your tranny to live. I dont know what gains you would get in 1/4 mile times but it sure feels good! I have a kid I have been doing a tune for that wants No TM and a 1-2 bark on a stock truck with CAI, Exhaust and a tune. Most of this was done by removing 100% engine and trans TM and a few other simple things. Most people including myself think they kill TM but dont. After some time I was able to produce 1-2 bark on a stock tranny and servo at 80% throttle and with a vett sevo at 30+%. Who wants it LOL. TM makes a HUGE difference!

I agree ... but it will work as a band aid fix.
