i have EFI Live and i like it, but ive never seen or got to work with HP Tuners so i cant say anything about it.
it seems like HPtuners and EFI live are the goin thing.. what happened to LS1 Edit? i havent heard anything bout it in a while.
i think my efi live from jesse was $600?? IIRC

Same situation here, though I'm a little farther away from ordering (damn business stealing all my time & money).
Been meaning to ask a question myself comparing the two....are there any advantages with one versus the other with their custom OS / SD tunes?

cody you are gonna find a very opinionated side to this with each that answer. I can only tell ya I have HPT. I like it. I had LS1edit and autotap in the beginning but ended up with HPT because that's what allen had. easy to learn with him shooting updates via email. I think the both are fairly equal in product design just they go about a different way. (more than one way to skin a cat(take our money). I downloaded efilive recently to goof with and look at other's tunes. I gott asay, I am obviously HPT sided because looking at efi is like looking at mac when you have been windows forever( i obviously understand it but finding my way around quickly isn't that easy). I say pick someone or some company that is gonna support you and your tuning learning and side with what they use. You know what I mean? Who do you think you are gonna beat up for answers the most?
In other words, which software do you see favored more than the other and judge from that. That is usually poor advice, but in this case both companies are pretty ******* good. So I don't think you'll lose either way. Step and go pro either way.

I never played with HPT. My dyno guy uses EFI. He did use HPT but the company kept jerking him around when he was setting up his new shop so he went with EFI live for spite I think
He likes it MUCH better. I could PM you his number if you would want to call him. When I first got EFI live I was like "Holy crap what are all these scales and tables for?" I've been goofing with it for about 2 weeks now and I am getting more and more bold with what I will mess with. I think they would both take time to learn.
HPT has a bigger user base to draw from because it’s been around so long. EFI users are still a small group but are growing.
HPT beats EFI in price for a basic version but once you add the "extras" with HPT (things you get with EFI) I think they get fairly close in price.
Anyway....I have EFI and really am liking it.
