Default Timing with COS3

I am using COS3 in EFILive and OLSD. I have an EFI Scan Map that shows KR as a function of MAP (Kpa) and RPM. My question is how I relate the cells in this Scan Map to the cells in the Spark High-Octane Table which are a function of Grams/Cylinder and RPM. Since I am no longer referencing the MAF I do not have any reference to airflow.

1.) What cells should I change in my spark table to help reduce the KR?
2.) How does COS3 convert the spark table to use with MAP (Kpa)?

IF you open up both the scanner and tuning tool, they link, and should highlight the data being used in the hi octane table.

Or just look in the airflow what hi octane columns are being used during the pull. I think you could jsut use the dynclyair_dma pid.

Rather than using MAP, replace that column parameter with an accurate g/cyl reference. To easily do this, open your HO Timing table in the tune tool, hit ctrl+A, then shift+ctrl+c. Go to the scan tool's map properties for the column and hit "Paste Labels". The column headers will match that of the table. Hit "Paste Labels" for RPM as well.

Hey Justin, Thanks a lot. I will give that a try and let you know how I make out.

Much appreciated....

charcold-bowtie, I think you had me headed in the right direction. Whether I would have figured it out or not is another question.....

Justin, I finally got around to trying to change the MAP column for Grams/Cylinder and that worked out very easily. Unfortunately, now all the data piles up in the 1.2 gram/cyl column and is not spread across the chart. Did I miss a step? Do I have to do a new log to get it to work?
Thanks.

Can you get me a screenshot of your data, column and row tabs of the map properties?

Don't seem to be able to figure out how to do a screen shot....LOL

I tried pasting in Open Office and Notepad but it just comes out as unformatted text instead of as a picture.

Since you're using open office, you might not mind trying paint.net. It's an open source free image editing program.

Push print screen and paste into mspaint, paint.net, or some other image viewer/editor and you should be able to save the screen shot as a .jpg and post it here or on a image hosting site and link to it.

One of the reasons I like paint.net is, while doing save as the file compression option is shown so you can make the file a good size to post.
