Default Three Vehicle Speed Sensors, one cup

Good afternoon Ladies and Gents,

Dont you just look and not post...Im watching you.

2002 1500 v6 4l60 4x4 swapped to 6.0 4l80. All did all the repinning, added front VSS, performed segment swaps for all applicable. my question is:

Do I have to find a 4x4 segment swap for the pcm due to the VSS in the transfer case? Im wondering how this would play into my swap and I believe I did a segment swap for 2wd.

Trans is acting like its in 2nd or 3rd. Kinda like vss is not communicating well and affecting the transmission control. I have tune I can attach and scans as well. No trans codes FYI. Just Crank position sensor which I think has to be a relearn.

Thoughts on what roles the speed sensor plays in the Transfer case or on the segment swap? The VSS is currently unplugged on transfer case.

4l80 uses two speed sensors. 4x4 doesnt matter, its in the transfer case instead of the transmission case to account for the ratio of the transfer case.

80e has 2 plugs like mentioned. The front one is the ISS and goes to the new pigtail you ran, and the rear is the VSS. There is also a VSS on the tcase. You can use either one although the tcase one is probably preferred if you ever use 4Lo.

Interesting, so your saying that the vss in t case and rear of trans is interchangeable? My truck when a 4l60 had the one in the trans and then one in t case and now since I wired the front ISS it's three. This is correct?

No. You ignore the rear sensor on the trans. The 4L80e in stock form on 4WD applications has a blank plug there.

You guys for the help. I did call Jake's performance today in Sanger. They were extremely helpful and informed me to continue to look for lost power since the vehicle is acting like it's in second gear and when I shift down to manual first it drags. I did verify 12 V at the connector but he said I need to verify on the internal harness. Just a little update to help future people in the same boat.

Update. Verified 12 volts at at all places on internal harness except pressure switch which was 3v. There is teash in the pan so I'm going to pull it back out. Boo
