thinking about hp tuners

You will need a laptop, but even the most basic ones will work just fine with it.Here is the web site for more info

You can pick up our Standard MPVI interface for only $499 or our MPVI Pro Interface which is what most will recommend for only $649 which comes with enough credits to tune up to 4 vcm's or opt for one of our custom operating systems which comes with real time tuning free of charge to tune 20+ of the most important tables in real time.
We also have one of if not thee largest supported vehicles listing for EITHER of our interfaces http://www.hptuners.com/products/vcmsuite_vehicles.php and should be making some announcements for our Dodge release in a couple of weeks as well meaning you'll be able to tune the big 3 all with one interface.
A laptop is necessary but I've been running my faithful Gateway 1.4ghz celeron for over 2 years without issue and any minimum laptop will do just fine.

I gotta say ... I do like HPTuners. I've seen the EFILive and I was lost in it, to me it felt hard to navigate through. HPTuners does seem to have a good support system for the software itself. They are always releasing updates and upgrades which tells me that they are on top of their software and keep it well up to date.
Either way, I don't think you could go wrong, but personally I prefer HPT.
It should be noted that HPT is a board sponsor as well.
