Tach wire or tach driver

I'm building a 03 SS single turbo setup with megasquirt. Just wanted to know what wire I have to hook up to get tach signal and location of the wire. Or is it easier to just get a tach driver .

I used the white wire going into the gauge cluster for RPM signal to the boost controller. It reads it as 4 cyl though.
