Default Start engages when connecting battery

I took the starter off and reinstalled in, I think I connected it correctly but now when I connect the battery the starter engages and does stop until I disconnect the batter, any thoughts?

The first thing to check is to make sure the signal wire (the small one on the starter) is not touching the main power wire (the big one). I had the same issue when I changed my starter last year.

You nailed it, there is a tab on the main + to the starter that was touching the signal wire

thanks!

Your welcome. Like I had said it happened to me when I changed my starter after work one night about 130am. Just got to watch the wires and there placement.

Don't you hate it when that happens. I did the same thing once but kept my composer and checked and sure enough that tab was touching the small wire.
