Default silverodo pcm help

well my buddys got a 01 silverodo 4.8 and other buds got a 05 rst 5.3 with a tuned pcm and i was just wondering if it will fit on the older model? and if so is it a super hard job or is it a matter of unplugging a few things and plugin then back up..?
let me know all the info you can get...

and also will a roll pan off the 05 fit on a 02 silverado?

The PCM's look the same, but 01 should have a blue connector and a red connector, where the 05 will have a blue connector and a green connector. The colors are visible when the harness is removed from the pcm. Not directly interchangeable.

I am pretty sure that the color change on trucks happened in 03. My 03 has green/blue. BTW cars were behind as the Vette was red/blue in 03 and made the change to green/blue in 04. Anyway, it is quick to check as all that you need to do is use a 7mm socket to disconnect and look at the connector color to see what you have. It is also printed on the pcm "blue" on one side and "green" or "red" on the other. Hope this makes things easier for you.

No problem!! Not trying to be a smartass!!!!but look at your battery, down between the battery and the engine is a black rectangular cover, open it and inside ou will see the pcm. Blurry pic but points you in the direction.

No, most every vehicle is set up with different perimeters and are not interchangeable. You can't take a PCM from one truck and put it into another. Your "tuned" PCM was tuned for the 05. It won't work in the 03 unless you have it flashed with a "tuned" 03 operating system.
