Default Ses Light Question

would my ses light staying on, cause my truck to run in open loop and make it have poor performance? i gutted my cats and deleted my egr, and ever since then my ses light has been on, and i feel like im loosing mad power on the low end, and it seems to be choking almost.i did order an 02 pcm with the updated injectors and am gonne let somebody tune it out with hp tuners.could false knock be casuing my problem?i just installed atb converter and i cant even use the power?

Do you have scanning software?? Do you know why the light is on?? When you deleted EGR did you also remove it from underneath the hood?? Did you remove the EGR from under the hood but just didn't delete it through the PCM??? More specifics please

The answer will be very clear once you can answer a few of those questions.

actually at work we used to have the software to read mostly all vehichels but we went with another brand and thios brand only reads ford (rotunda) equipped vehichles.
but when i did read it last time it was my 02's cauing the code. my guess was because i gutted them out? i thought about throwin some 02 sims on the rear to try and fix it but procrastenated instead.i didnt delete my egr fully, i just did the free mod where you cut the part going into the upper intake, i made an egr blockoff plate but never havnt done it yet. so to answer your question 1# i dont have scanning software 2#i think my l;ight is on because of my cats, but who knows what else?3#the egr is still under the hood, i just did the small intake mod to it,but want to delete it.4#and i havnt deleted it in the pcm. could all this be making my truck run like popoo ? i remember when i had it mostlyu stock with my stock torque converter and just a
flowmaster, it was a beast out of the hole, so i was hopin for a nice gain with the tb stall, but i really cant even tell its there from a dead stop.then i researched on here and found out about the 99-00 pcms that were frowned upon and the false knock problems they have.the false knock on top of no cats and an ses light on means big loss of power . thats why i decided to go with the updated 02 pcm with the new injectors and see what happens when i get someone to tune it thats can work the bugs out.thanks.

Cool...ok the first problem is the EGR. That is one of the MAJOR things causing the problem. When your system knows something is wrong there, it will retard timing and it might even drop you to your low octane table. If you don't delete the EGR from the PCM then it is still trying to use the EGR, and since there isn't really one there it is hurting your performance. The rear O2's will have a very very minimal affect on your performance. The soul purpouse of the rears is to monitor the cat's performance. It will hurt you a little bit but not enough to where you can feal it!!! Good move on going to the newer PCM though. It should help you out a bit, but the problems will still be the same on it if you don't remove the EGR completely (Mechanically and Electronically)!!! Have whoever is tuning it, turn off the rear O2's it will be fine if they're off...or you can buy O2 sims but it is much easier to turn them off and pay nothing . Hope that helps
