Default to SD or not to SD

for my 408 custom cam, L92, L76 intake, 90mm tb, `1 7/8 header, svo 42 injector setup what would be best to use the Maf or go SD

see with a 90mm tb the inlet for air needs to be 4" and my K&N FIPK isnt that large and neither is the MAF should i eliminate the MAF and tune for SD for this new setup

SD for sure, I just got through tuning the Wood Hauler's 408 for SD and it makes a difference. Idle tuning was a little tougher but tuning the VE isn't bad at all and drivability is still great. When we do his Victor and 4bbl and possibly a new cam/heads setup, I will use EFILive COS3.

On a 346 we actually found that the stock 75mm MAF was a restriction. Not the fact it was in SD, but the fact it was a smaller opening then the intake/TB. We changed the MAF to a 100mm MAF/4" tube and the car picked up 16hp. This isn't common but it does show that on some setups it can be a restriction.

yea that is what i was thinking, figure if i go SD then i can make a 4" inlet and that will allow my motor to Inhale very well and with 1 7/8 headers and dual 3" i should be able to exhale just as well

im hoping for mid 500s to the wheels NA with new setup

on your IAC use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull on the two ends of the IAC that the connection plugs into and it will come out..for the longest time i left it all disconnected and never effected anything, for the a/f vs inlet air temp cant remember what exsactly its called but i had it all set to 0 anyways..never effected a/f, spark or anything with it plugged in or not..
