Default SD on a N/A 5.3L?

I talk to my tuner yesterday and I think he talked me into a SD tune for my truck. What should I expect from this kind of tune? pros/cons?

He told he sets the afr at 12.8 but if I really wanted to he could do 12.5, but it was at my own risk. He said something about I would not need the maf or o2 anymore.

12.5 at your own risk? 12.5 is a safer AFR than 12.8...

yep deletes all oxygen related sensors MAF and O2's ive read somewhere that you gain some mpg and little more reliability being that O2's arent burning up. like i said in the other thread, its basically using the fuel rail and injectors as a carb

Speed Density does not mean that you're ignoring the oxygen related sensors, it is simply that it uses manifold pressure and RPM to define engine load and not the factory mass air meter. Everything else can be configured just the same.

One of the cons of this setup for 1TrueSS is if this is not done with a custom operating system, then you'll lose the ability to have dual spark tables (High and low octane). If you're overtimed or have a bad tank of gas, you're losing this safety instrument.

You can still use the 02s in a SD tune if you enable closed loop. If they are removed then you will be in open loop only.
