Has anybody on here done a tune for GM's with SCT? Are they capable of SD tuning?

SCTflash.com, its what most of the Ford guys use for custom tuning. I'd just go with a custom tune from one of the sponsors on the right, or buy a tuning software such as HPTuners or EFILive and learn how to tune yourself. I doubt any of the GM guys on here use SCT, but like I said they are highly known for Fords..

Ah, thank you

If your looking for an SD tune I'd reccommend buying tuning software and doing it yourself, it's easy enough to do if you have a little patience and wil be alot more accurate than having someone try to fabricate an SD tune for you

If you do go for SD tuning. Ya gotta put an IAT sensor somwehere. Cut into the MAF wires and put one say in the intake tube. I havent talked with anybody nor know of anyone thats tuned SD with SCT.

whatever you do, if you're boosted and looking at an SD tune, you MUST change your MAP sensor

When I change my MAP sensor what is involved in getting it to work? If I take the MAF out what do I need to put in place of it?? I am also putting a alkycontrol system on too. I have my MAF located about 3" away from the TB? Any help would be great...

I actually got an e-mail from Wait4Me today in regards to SCT, I was very surprised:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Caleb,
Yes Jesse loads his performance tune in the tool, the same one he would put into the PCM. SCT is the company that makes this, its called an Xcalibrator. It also has a scan tool in it also.

Yes Jesse can tune for anything that you want. He said that this tune should take off at least 1/2 a second at the track. We've had people dyno tune the trucks after we've tuned them and the tune is usually right on the mark and they don't have to change anything... But with the Xcalibrator if you do want something changed Jesse just sends you an email with the update and you load it into the Xcalibrator without any down time on the truck.

Thanks!
Hannah

Hannah,

Is this the same performance tune you mentioned earlier? Just in a handheld? What handheld programmer is it?

Thanks,
Caleb

I was surprised because the Xcalibrator is what I used on my mustang through JMS tuning. It was an awesome awesome product, I've just never heard of it being used on any GM vehicles.

I e-mailed Hannah back asking what kind of results, if any, they've had on them. But based solely off of the experience I had on my Mustang with it I wouldn't mind trying it out. I was able to get tunes via e-mail in minutes for any minor adjustments that needed to be made..and you can always put the factory tune back on, for whatever reason, in minutes.

I haven't heard back from Allen in a week so I will probably be a pioneer and try this out since it's a little more affordable for me anyway.
