If the engine is running lean in closed loop then you will see positive fuel trims ie the pcm is adjusting fueling and is correcting back to Lambda 1 (stoich) and if you see negative fuel trims then the engine is running rich in closed loop thus pulling whatever fueling error percentage to correct back to Lambda 1 (stoich).

nope.

positive trim means its adding, negative means subtracting.

Umm sorry their bud fueling errors are figured as % which does not mean adding or subtracting. Which is why for example if you have a point in your ve or maf table that is say positive 4% lean you would multiply that cell by 1.04 or a -3% then you would multiply that cell by .97.

Yeah pretty much that's why post #13 I was pretty much being sarcastic.


Either way it's very very basic stuff here no need to over analyze it.

We replied at the same time originally, and my post was directed towards onyx, not you

...and by adding I mean the computer is having to supply additional fuel, and its not straight adding the amount of error

It's all good man, I figured out what you were getting at with the adding subtracting part. I wasnt being a ***** at all, just going about my usual smart *** way of joking......my wife hates it.
