Default Rich at WOT after tuning VE and MAF

I tuned my VE and MAF and they are pretty close +/- .5% using a wideband. I couldn't tune the upper RPM range for the VE table because i would always go into boost and throw off the reading. When tuning the MAF i would go into WOT and hit a lot of the higher frequencies and adjust based on the %error. Now that i've set everything back to normal, everytime i go into boost or PE i'm running super rich ~11.2-11.5. When i was tuning the MAF and in boost and PE my AFR was right where i wanted it to be at 12.0 (14.7/1.225).

What is throwing off my afr? I'm thinking maybe the VE table because when i was tuning the VE table i multiplied the entire table by 1.2 and i didn't adjust the higher cells because i couldn't get them w/o getting into boost. Any suggestions? I thought at WOT the VCM uses the MAF reading and disregards the VE table?

are you using a 2bar map sensor and OS?

No 2 bar yet. I wanted to get the hang of tuning and figure out what does what before i jumped into the 2 bar setup.

what did you set your PE table to??? at wot the truck only uses the maf and PE table for calibration, your VE table is used for running around under 4k rpms. good luck.

Closed loop error.

check your scanner and see just how much ltft you have when you go into pe. .5 is about 4% error. If the pcm is adding (+4%), it will add in pe as well. Yeah...downside of closed loop.

Just wondering why you are even thinking about going Speed Density?

well, you know it's sorta more complicated than that, under 4K it is a mix of calculations of the 2. Over 4K it's all MAF baby.

***EDIT..I apologize, i just re-read v8's post, lol I thought he typed VE(not PE) on the first part, yes he right. But it is a combo of the 2 to different degrees under 4K.***

I'm not actually, if i can get everything tuned up using the MAF and VE table then i don't plan on going SD.

Looks like i'll need to mess with my VE table in the upper kPA range. I'll need to lower them since i'm running rich correct?

I'll probably change my shift RPM's also because i'm shifting well before 4K

You should have only initially increase the VE table to the RPM you could hit. IMO return the Higher RPM areas of the VE table back to stock. But in PE the VE table is not used for calculations it is only the MAF. When you Tuned the MAF did you lower the threshold for MAF caculation (B0120) to like 200??? This allows fueling to be controled only by the MAF, it bypasses the VE table. If you did not then you need to lower it and retune the MAF, otherwise the VE table is influencing the AFR while your trying to tune your MAF... you don't want that...
