I welded a bolt to the frame on the passenger side and just used a nut to secure the cable end. It was about 12" from the block.

I wouldn't be using 4 gauge for anything more heavy duty than a stereo amplifier. I ran 2 gauge for my primary power cables and could still tell a difference in cranking. You need big stuff in this case...as others have mentioned, welding cable is a good choice.

Yea. I don't have a welded though. I have some 0ga on the way. Should be here Thursday. May go up to firebird raceway on Friday night to test everything out. If I get the nitrous hooked up in time do I have to have a fire jacket?

I added a ground from the battery to the frame and it works! Will I still need the 0ga wire? It's the cheap stuff so it's more like a true 2ga.

It has power but won't turn over. Hopefully the 0ga helps out. I'm also going to add a ground form the block to the frame.

How many CCA is your battery? How old is your battery? You might want to perform a load test on it.

Another thing to look at is if your exhaust is too close to your starter. It might not crank well if it is too hot.

It's an optima yellow top so it's about 880 cca and about 6 months old. When I was jumping it a guy came over and said I was sparking from under the passenger wheel well. Looked liked the wires on the starter were touching so I'm going to have to pull the starter and fix that

So the new wire came in. Is a true 2ga. Here it is compaired to the cable that was being used.

I also added a ground from the block to the frame on the passenger side. When I went to start it it would start then die. It does this when I flash in a new tune or when the battery dies but it started and idled under its own power. I let it get to full operating temp the shut it down for 5 min. Then went to restart it and it fired right up. Lets hope it works from now on.

What are you using for cable ends and how are you attaching them?
