Can happen every once in a while, is it the stock radio? First thing to try is pull the radio fuse and let it sit for about 1 min. then put the fuse back in and try it. another thing you may have to do is disconnect the battery and touch the cables together.

would help if you would tell us what you are driving....

maybe a mistyped VIN number? that could cause some confusion for a 03+ truck

Have you checked the fuses? I have had to pull the radio's fuse on some trucks depending on what kind of wiring harness they used when they installed the head unit.

Maybe you made some changes to your speed vs radio station tables?

If it is a PAC module it says to unplug the pac radio adaptor module before performing any computer related updates. I guess this is the reason why. Interesting to know now thanks for answering my question as to what if after reading the installation instructions with the module.
