Default Programmer vs. Tune?

I have a NNBS ECSB Z71 with the 5.3 with full K&N system, and True dual exhaust with flowmaster super 44's. I would like to get the max hp out of whatever I do next. Anyone who has dyno numbers and great results, please let me know! I have seen 12wrhp with the Bully Dog GT tuner on 93 octane on a stock nnbs 5.3. Diablo sport claims up to 40wrhp on a 6.0L. How about on a 5.3? Also, slp offers the diablo tuner with a tune for $489.20. Let me know what you guys would be best on my 5.3!!

Welcome to PT, obvious you need to chill and read a bit No programmer is going to give the results of a custom tune if that's what you're after.

Maryland...Black Bear is just in northern VA, and are renowned as one of the very best tuners anywhere. As far as a handheld, IF you just have to have one, Diablo is about the only way to go. They offer far more tuning options that any other hand held. And I get FREE custom tunes for mine right from the people at DiabloSport. Just post up what you need and want on their forum. Johan is a good guy there, and knows what he is doing. I run a Diablo just for the simple fact that I am always changing setups, N/A, Turbo, Bigger injectors. I plan on getting a Custom Tune from Black Bear as soon as I get my truck setup to where I want though.

I have an 09 Silverado 5.3 extra cab 2 wheel drive, it has the Z60 package with 20's and bigger sway bar G80 rear axel 3:42's tow package and I think performance tuned shocks. I keep seeing tunes etc. i am intrested but will the affect warranty coverage? I would ike to get one that improves MPG. I am more than happy with the performance of my truck and have no need to make it faster. It feels/seems that when you turn of the traction and stability control to have more power and better MPG by about .5 to 1MPG ?

can I run a "tune" by someone and not have issues or is diablo the way to go for me?

Having experience of useing programmers on my truck, all I can say is a tune is so much better. I have a Black Bear tune also and I could not believe the difference. A tune is also cheaper than most programmers.

A tune is the way to go.
