if you are wanting to learn to do it yourself, why would you get a handheld?
that isn't the same as tuning yourself.
You can get a Used EFI Live for about the same as a Predator if you check around. The handheld is going to limit what you can change while real tuning software is basically only limited by your abilities.

Man the diablo haters blow me away, I have had several and they work great. You can dial in as good a tune as a canned custom tune if you read up a bit on adjusting parameters. Plus you can return to stock for service or resale of the vehicle and tuner. I bought my last one for 52bucks used off ebay, works great.

yeah, you will gain about 20hp/tq, plus better throttle response, acceleration, etc etc...

get your fueling dialed in and you will gain even more throttle response, acceleration, stronger/harder pull, and better mileage...

are you buying it brand new?? (concoursdirect.com has them for $299 new) if so, you will be getting one of the new versions that will allow you to save data logs. you can do some logging to see where you're average LTFT's are at, and adjust your injector slope based on that data....

here's a write-up on how to do a proper data log, what parameters you need to log, etc etc...

I see you mentioned that you have a MAC?? well, you're going to need to Run Windows on the MAC in order to use any of the diablo software - since it's Windows-only.

you'll also need to get the pc interface kit - which is the power adapter and serial/usb cable that allows you to connect the predator to your computer, so that you can download data logs, import/export tune files, update the predator, etc etc.

custom tunes can be done via email for very reasonable costs - you can PM me about it if/when you get to that point where you want even more performance out of it...

So i installed the tune in the parking lot then disabled the TCM and set the injector slope to -2. Nothing performance wise has changed, AT ALL. From a stop, from a roll nothing. Same truck, different shifting. So im pretty pissed that i spent $340 that just changed the shift pressure.
