Default PCM Swapping...

Well first let me explain what I'm trying to do here. I have a '96 C1500 RCSS and I'm putting in a 6.0 out of a 2003 2500HD. I have the full wiring harness from the '03 6.0, the '03 PCM, and almost all of the engine related '03 sensors. I'm trying to figure out if I can use the 03 PCM to control all of the 96 components that will be left over (interior, gauges, transmission, abs, etc.).
I know that I can use my 0411 pcm from the 01-02 trucks and it will control everything perfectly, But I din't know about the '03 pcm. I would rather use the '03 pcm if I can and keep the 0411 for a LT1 project in my '95 Trans-Am

So has anyone done a swap from a '99-02 truck to the '03 type pcm?
If the 03 pcm will run the 99-02, or specifically 01-02 trucks, then it should be able to run the rest of my '96 truck.
The 411 pcm swap into 96-99 trucks has become quite popular on the pacificp forum, but I don't think anyone has done a '03 pcm swap into the 96-99 trucks like mine.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Andrew, thats where I spend most of my time, and on my thread about my 6.0 project, no one knew if I could run the '03 pcm. I'll probably make a thread like this just to make sure. If I don't get an answer out of anybody on here or there, I'm jus gonna try it anyways and do some configuring with HPTuners to see if I can get it to work.

Well, how about this one guys:
Has anyone ran analog gauges on a 03-06 truck using the 03-06 pcm?
I'm not talking about just a needle type analog gauge, but any gauge that uses a analog signal input.
I think that if someone has used individual gauges in a custom gauge cluster, and used the 03-06 pcm for the signal, then I should be just fine with the 2003 pcm in my '96 truck

I have done a ls1 swap in a 94 and we used the ls1 pcm.. I got speedo, tach, engine temp, fuel gauge to work.. we didnt have ABS so thats a non issue, but if you want yours to work you have to keep the old pcm in there.. Basically run both pcms and use the 03 one for motor and guages, the 96 for the rest..

What year LS1 pcm was that?
I know for a fact that retaining the stock pcm is not necessary when using the 01-02 0411 pcm in the 96-99 trucks. Several of them are running on them are running good 411 pcm with the 5.7 vortec motors. So the way its looking is that I will have to repin for the 01 411 pcm that I have laying around here, that should get it working just fine.
