I was wondering if I can take my 2003 silverado 6.0 pcm and load a 2002 avalanche 5.3 program and istall it into the avalanche? For some reason the 1,3,5,7 are all showing misfires and I am wondering if some thing is wrong with the PCM. The motor was just installed and the old one did the same thing. Any help would be great. Oh yea I will bu using HP tuners.

 

I think they will physically fit... but im not sure about all the details of the data between the 2...

THe 03-up have a 1024 mb PCM and the 99-02's have a 512mb PCM IIRC.

 

Yep, they also have a different "key pin" on the one of the connectors, so the pcm will not even plug into the harness.

Try doing a crank relearn on the 02 pcm though. Might help with the misfire detection problem. Also, if its all on one side, you could have a plugged cat.
