Default P0135 and Longtube's

I recently installed a set of pacesetters on my 04 6.0 2500hd. 500 miles or so after the install I started getting the code p0135. heater cuircut sensor 1 bank 1. I just wanted to know if this is a common problem with longtubes, or if its just a coincidence (spell check?) that it failed. I have cleared it a couple of times and it just comes right back. I have checked the wiring and it is in good condition.

My local gm dealer wants 170 for the sensor and napa wants 140 for a bosch and kragen is only 75 for a bosch 02 sensor. Is there a difference between the oem sensors and the bosch ones? Id hate to spend 170 for a new sensor if that isnt the problem

thanks

to fix it, you would need to replace the sensor. See that code alot, whether it has headers or manifolds

It's not a bad sensor, replacing it will do no good.

trust me.

I used extra O2's I had in the garage to make sure, got the same codes.

shoulda spliced the connector with one of ur old rear O2's.. But glad u've got it under control. If ur talking about it reading like a bank lean or anything like that (indicating a bad sensor) this will fix it.

Im still running the cats so the rear 02's are still in service. But thanks for the suggestion. The code is saying that the heater cuircut is bad.

It's a pretty common failure for many manufacturers, the heater in the O2 sensor goes bad and trips the code. The O2 sensor needs to be at a certain temp to function properly, and the heater gets it there quickly...
