Default oxygen sensors

Hey guys. My OBD threw codes 1153 and 1133 (insuff. switching on the front two oxygen sensors), indicating that they werent heating enough to function properly. I understand how that could be the case because of my LT headers. What do I do to correct it though? I bought two new bosch sensors and replaced the two front sensors. However, the code is still present. I have read in other forums:

1) that I should get blocker plates? Would this take care of the SES light?

2) that the rear vette sensors would work with my front sensors? Is this true? If so, would the fact that they are REAR sensors off one car going in place of FRONT sensors on my car make a difference?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks guys!

vette sensors if your comfortable buying more sensors...that trick will work alot of times, but as I have read...not always. I just turned my codes off.

I've heard of people grinding the bungs down to get the sensor into the exhaust stream better also. If the bungs are thick that may be something to try also.

You can also wrap the headers with header wrap in the 02 sensor area.

Don't wrap ... that will cause problems. The headers aren't coated are they? That would be the 'correct' way to fix the problem, but also the most difficult way.

yea, they ARE coated. The other thing that bothers me.....I bought the LTs and installed them about 6 months ago with stock sensors in it (GM sensors). But,when it came time to change them last week, I put bosch sensors in it....Would that be making the difference? Could the GM sensors simply heat better?

The sensors don't heat anything except themselves ... they only heat themselves until the exhaust gases are hot enough to keep them as hot as they should be. When the exhaust gasses don't get that hot, or the heaters aren't cut off as soon as they should be, then they trip the SES light.

I still think it's the headers. Did it recently cool off in you're area?

yeah it did......but I can't get rid of the headers, nor do I want to. I just want the engineto run with the right mixture and for the SES light to stop tripping.

Would an exhaust leak cause all of this? Not trying to hi-jack your thread, but I am currently having the same problem with my port-match stock manifold that I have had on since March

I have not tried this yet, but I was told that even though I am clearing the codes it could still be stored some where and I need to unplug the battery. ?!?!? I will clear the code and on the second day of driving the SES will come back on.

Oh ya, and I am running the Bosch too.

I plan on running Pascesetter coated headers as soon as I can get some money! I
