Default Ok Ok 6.0 stock pcm ??? for pcm guys Help

Well after a long road, I am finially going to put this damn 6.0 in the truck on my vacation in december I freaking hope. I have asked a ??? like this awhile back and but didn't get a solid answer. I have a 05 6.0 with the pcm. In 05 the trucks were returnless fuel sys. I have a 03 with a return fuel sys. Will the 05 pcm work on my 03 or will it need a reflash, for the fuel system. I will have to get a reflash eventually for the cam and mods, I know this. Can this work untill I get a new tune. Can I have the 05 pcm tuned to work with a return style fuel system???Thanks for any helpfull info this.

JOHN

It will run, but it won't run well... TAC Module might freak out too, but I'm not positive.

If you can make a trip down to alexandria, I'll flash it with a stock tune for you.

What's wrong with reusing your existing PCM?

Isnt the 4.8 pcm, different as far as fueling tables exc then the 6.0 pcm. If they are then wouldn't a cammed 6.0 run really bad, all I have on the 4.8 tune is the HYPERJUNK. I was wanting to know if I could use a returnless fuel system pcm on a truck with a return system. I know that a 6.0 pcm will not run that great on a cammed 6.0, but since the 6.0 pcm is for a (returnless fuel sys) will it really run bad I am keeping the return system on the truck.. thanks

It's the TAC (Throttle Actuator Control) Module that might have issues, but I don't think anybody here will know with any certainty if it will work or not.

As far as your 4.8PCM goes, it will be fine in steady state, but in transient fueling conditions, it may spike lean momentarily. Depending on how big your cam is, both PCMs might run equally badly.

Ok thank you, that is more enroute to what I am looking for, with some info with it. One thing I did was look over the TAC mod and thought it would be interfering with my tachometer, was thinking why would that be. If thats the case then I will just run the 4.8 pcm with the 6.0 untill I can get a tune done, play the 2 foot game with the damn thing..
Thanks JOHN
