My VE table is pretty jagged looking, but the truck runs really great, with minnimal KR that I'm tuning out. Does the VE table absolutely need to be smooth. I'm afraid to dial it up as I would sacrifice MPG............

I've never understood how it could cause mpg to drop, you are still in CL so the engine is pulling or adding fuel as needed, regardless of the v.e, especially if you are still using a maf. Now I could see in transit fueling but unless your tune is so far out the pcm can't compensate. I say SMOOOOOTH.

Everytime I smoothed my VE table, it would make my WB read strange, escpecially at idle. When I did smooth my AFR would flucuate alot more, the last time I tuned my VE table I did not smooth it and it runs great.

I wouldn't really recommend using the stock 02's to get your VE dialed in. I started to tune a little based on the stockers and was quickly driven away because I was seeing some really weird commanded afr numbers and also pulse width wasn't where it shoulda been. I got mike's opinion on smoothing VE the other day and he really didn't comment much other than "if it makes good power and it runs fine, don't **** with it" lol. Just my .02

Yeah- if it ain't broke don't fix it. My IDC is great, really low- but then I don't wind the p!ss outta the truck- but I'll get a K.R. of about 1.6 now and then at around 1400 to 1600 RPM, which I'm still levelling off. Other than that I couldn't be happier with the truck really, at 7,000 feeet to boot...........
