it should be the same one as your Cig lighter... check all the fuses under the hood and the one under your dash..

Check both the cig lighter fuse and the accessory fuse as well. My buddy's '99 just had the same exact problem this week. Got a check engine light and tried to scan it and no go.
No power to the cig lighter but the fuse was good. Found it was the accessory fuse that was blown.

I belive you want to check pin #16 for power. Maybe someone else will chime in and say if I am right. If I am right then pin 16 needs power inorder for the scan tool to comunicate.

Ya, good idea run down through all the fuses and check the ones under the hood too just to make sure all of them are good.

alright well pin 16 has power , and i tried the same NGS on my buddys 00' silvy and it had the same problem, so i think its the NGs and not my truck. .. but i also have another question......if your trucks check engine light comes on, it goes into a "limp" mode correct? in which the pcm uses set parameters to go by and only uses the sensors it has to....or does it just ues a set parameter on the sesnor that goes bad???
