Default o2 Sensor Position In A Down Pipe?

I see instructions on installing sensors at the 10 to 2 o'clock positions and I would assume this is only if the tube is horizontal?
My pipes before the cats are not horizontal but more like 45 degrees so I would assume I can install at will?

I would still put it in the top half. I think it would keep gunk or moisture from accumulating.

When I installed mine before the cats I actually mounted mine on the side of the pipe just because its the only way i could fit the drill in there.

Thanks,

It's pretty darned tight on both sides for drilling too. I'll have to drop the pipe maybe. Are there sealing donuts on these things?

Here is what I have to work with. The distance to the manifold is pretty short.
Frame on one side and tranny on the other.
The passenger side is better to work with but wide band cable length problems can arise.

The best and easiest way is to drop the y-pipe. Put it on the left side, about 45 degrees away from the front O2, and about 3 inches downstream. Out of the chassis will make drilling, and welding easier, the results will surely be better. Putting it in the left side will help moniter #7, which apparently is/has been a problem for some.

This is how I did my own truck.

I agree. I'll just have to hunker down and get her done.
