Default No oil pressure

I will try to make it short. Last year I bought a Keene Bell, and had a shop install and tune it. NO oil pressure, I was told the sender could not fit. They gave me a 45 to offset it, why they did not do it who knows! So this weekend I install it. Aggravated me every time I drove it, now still NOTHING! Is it possible that it was tuned out. The sender is brand new AC Delco, the connector was still there.
Thanks, Bill

Default Oil press

did you try a mechanical gauge to see
what press your running ? just a temp hookup
on the windshield cowl. or a pillar mount.

Thanks turboal for replying. I drove it a little today, and it stared working. Maybe it was just new and needed to get some heat in it? I thought the was wire cut, or something I did. It's the one wire stock gauge and mechanical was my next move. Cool truck by the way.

Those one wire sending units rely on ground to complete the circuit. If you use to much teflon tape or sealant you can lose that necessary ground.

Well I fell dumb, that is probably what it is. Because now it's intermittent. Well, at least I have A three day weekend to fool around with it. Thanks

You may be able to turn the sensor out a couple turns then back in to get ground. The new sending units have sealant partially on the threads.

Edit to add: I forgot you have the extra fittings for clearance. You may have to address all the fittings.

That is a big NO NO! Once pipe threads are tightened, if loosen, the fitting must be resealed whether it’s pipe dope or Teflon tape ( and there is a right/wrong way to apply Teflon tape )

I’ve seen people go overboard with pipe dope/tape and actually clog sending units up

But for a piece of mind, just hook up a mechanical garage and verify that the motor is making oil pressure.

He has oil pressure and driving the truck. He's getting intermittent readings most likely because of ground issues as I posted above. No need to waist time or money on a mechanical gauge until the ground issue is addressed.

Hi guys, I figured it out the sender was no good out of the box. It had ground and I tested it with air, no good. Put another one in from the dealer and now works fine 42psi hot at idle. I tested it with air before even before installing. The Keene Bell is a pain because they use silicone to seal the blower to the manifold. I almost went the mechanical route. Thanks, Bill
