Yeah I figured it needed to be retuned but didn't know if I could drive it without a retune.

Locks out? or Locks up?

i would set the tcc pressure at 95 and 100% don't want it doing the factory slip thing for smooth lock up. its hard on the clutch.

Yea well I got the converter in yesterday and fired it up today. Yeah it definately needs a retune shift points are everywhere and it doesn't wanna stay idling when coming to a stop. Is this normal

Wondering this also. I didn't realize it played a role in idling.

yeah when cammed you have to retune the idle portions. less rotating mass lets the rpm's drop faster (kinda like a lightend flywheel in a stick shift) and the computer can't compensate in time. this has to be tweaked out in the tune. shift points can be off do to the converter reving higher at the same speed as stock.

obviously you need to retune for a cam, but when you add a converter, your saying it makes it drop to idle too fast. What tables do you need to play with? add air to the throttle follower?

lets try this again. because you are cammed (which is hard to make idle anyway) then you add the light weight of the converter allowing the engine to drop rpm faster after throttle lift they wind up dying more. so yes you have to tune the idle cells. i'm in the deployed to the desert so i don't have my tuning computer with me to talk you through it exact. but try adding a little raf (iirc) air just to hold your idle better. (cheater way) the from there make your adjustments to idle cells. sorry i can't be of more help, with out my computer i can't remember all the tables.

How about driving 100 miles after installing a circle D 278mm 3000-3200 converter to get tuned. Any issues or things to watch for?
