Default New HP Tuner 07 Tahoe 5.3

Like said above new to this tuner stuff, kinda an old school guy. So got the hp tuner for tahoe, cats deleted straight long tube headers, k&n filter, and dual exhaust for now. All thing asc with cats deleted, now I am running rich and ideas on what to play with to get that squared away. I am just not sure where to go and start playing with to get this under control. Thanks

The first things to be tuned is the MAF and VE table. You should go to the top of this forum and read all through the stickies. When you finish that, go to the HPTuners forum and read all the tutorials that are posted on their site. The software is very complex and can be intimidating to new users. Luckily for you, HPTuners has a very good amount of online support relative to the other options. You will spend countless hours reading and playing with it before you become comfortable with it but that's what it takes to learn the basics of efi tuning.

no problem, the best thing to do is to let a tuner tune it the first time, and make little adjustments to it from there yourself. being able to go compare the finished tune to your stock tune will help you understand things as well.

Yeah I got my buddy 04silverado coming by today and we are gonna tune it up and then gonna start looking at doing a little more to motor as soon as tune is up and performing. He is kind of a mad scientist. Thanks for the insight, I though tuning would be easy but man I open things and just close them cause soo much can get screwed up.

Like said above the VE table needs to be tuned. On mine im running it open loop speed density getting the VE straight and I have seen a huge difference in drivability and economy
