hey guys

my buiddy just did a 4l80e swap into his 2000 silverado with a 5.3L in it. He called me up to tune it but i dont know what i have to change to make the 4l80e work with the 5.3, do i need to do a custom OS? i have a tune from a 2002 6.0L 4l80e 2500 silverado

or if anyone has a file i can just load in so i can get it running id apreciate it

We need to know what tuning software you're using and what operating system the tune in the PCM is.

 

i just realized i forgot to say im using HP tuners

when i get home ill grab the OS #s and post them up

will i have to just write a 4l80e-6.0 tune to the PCM then change the engine tables?

when i pull up the operating system # it gives me 9381344

 

ok so i talked to one of my friends and he said i can take a stock bin from a HD truck with a 6.0 and 4l80e and change all the engine tables over to my 5.3 tables and it should work

only problem is it seems the only tune i have here or in the repository is a 2001 silverado 6.0 with a 4l80e and it has drive by wire were as the one im working on is cable operated

the truck that im tuneings operating system is 9381344, the closest tune i found is 12208322

can anyone help me out?

 

That should work if you can find one.. Have you searched Chevrolet and GMC??

 

yep i searched 6.0L engine in all years makes and models- i cant find any cable operated throttle body tunes

if somone out there has a 4l80e tune for a 2000 GM truck with a cable throttlebody that would be awsome

You need to Email support@hptuners. Only they can do full segment swaps for this type of tune.

 

hmmm a guy on here that i talk to told me he has done it befor, i found a tune for a 2000 HD and swapped all of my engine tables over, the tune looks good, im gonna try it out tomorrow

the one i have is for the same year, same operating system as what im working on, it was just a 6.0 with a 4l80e instead of a 5.3 with a 4l80e

ill flash it and see if it works
