Default Need help, can't get CATALYST monitor to become ready!

truck specs are in my sig. The catalyst monitor never sets to ready, I have been driving it for about 6 months and it has never set. I replaced all my 02 sensors recently, but this problem was prior to the replacement. I really have no idea why the monitor is never ready. I have done multiple drive cycles, and it just wont set. I have no pending codes, and I checked with Blackbear performance and they said there is nothing in my tune that would make the monitor not set. I am trying to pass smog, and in california they just changed the law so the catalyst monitor is no longer one of the monitors you are allowed to have incomplete. I even tried resetting all the monitors a few weeks ago, and after one drive cycle all the monitors are ready except the catalyst.

Anyone know what would cause the catalyst to not become ready? ANY help would be highly appreciated!

Sounds like one of the O2S codes have been turned to "off" instead of "no error reported." That might keep the test from completing.

Yes I have cats, OEM manifolds, cats, ypipe. I asked blackbear performance about my tune and he said he wouldnt of messed with anything that would effect the 02 sensors because I don't have headers.

This is driving me nuts, driving the truck around with expired tags trying to complete drive cycles, I really feel like I'm getting nowhere with it, when I smogged it 2 years ago the catalyst was incomplete but the law was different. Im half tempted to just part it out cause if I can't smog it I can't drive it so what's the point of having it, gotta love california!

It's also possible there is an issue with your computer as well.

When you drive it, are you takeing out on the FWY and driving it at 60 MPH for approx 5 miles steady? No change in RPM or MPH?

That may be part of your problem. I don't believe you can use the cruise control as it is considered an accessory. I believe it need's real pedal feedback.

OBD II Drive Cycle (reset car diagnostic monitors )

Also needs to be between 1/4 and 3/4 tank of gas while performing Diagnostic drive cycles. Not above or below.

I have been making sure to keep the gas level in range but that's the first time I have heard about not using cruise control. I will start doing the drive cycles without cruise control to see if that helps, but I do remember reading a non model specific drive cycle instruction sheet a while back and it said to use cruise control so I assumed it would be ok
