HI Guys,
I was hoping that somebody could help me UNLOCK a Factory GM Radio.. My neighbor gave me his 6DIsc in dash radio from his 2007 Tahoe and I put it in my 2008 GMC Sierra. It plugs in and lights up and than displays LOCKED...

Please Help

 

Need a Tech 2 and then program the BCM to make the radio work.

 

so im stuck ?? do i go to the Chevy or GMC dealer ??? is this an expensive proposition ???? Or souldi forget about it ?? Nothing I can do ??

 

Yes, go to the GM dealer. Expect to be charged around one hour of labor.

 

The radios in the NNBS are locked to the VIN and have to be unlocked via the dealer, if you got your truck from a dealer, and live in kinda a small area/the dealer is in kinda a small area, they may do it for free, they did for my work truck... I had to tell them how to do it though.

 

I found a dealer that would charge 1/2 rates which would save some money...
