Default My HPT Interface Cable Was Stolen, What Now?

I had my laptop and interface cable stolen out of my truck not too long ago. I still have the software cd, and i have another laptop now, i just need the cable. I e-mailed Keith of HP Tuners and he said that the only way to sell me another MPVI interface cable is for me to return the other one, i told him it was stolen. He then said that i will need to buy the set again, so i will have to spend another $500 for a SECOND cd, the MPVI Cable, and another 8 GM credits. So, anyway to get around this to buy just the cable, would anyone sell me their cable, i don't know if that would work, but i need to do something, i need to retune my truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The CD is irrelevant, you can download the software for free. All the value is in the cable, and I doubt anyone will sell you their cable for much less than full price.

Do you have insurance? If so, you should be able to claim this as a theft. Have you thought about this.

Another idea...there are some people in San Diego who perhaps you could ask to sell you some remaining credits on their tuning package, and borrow their cable to tune.

if you have homeowners insurance you can usually claim it on that when stuff is stolen in front of your home.

from there end of things:
