Default My Efan Install Adventure

I just got my 2004 RCSB Silvy. Its a 4.8 auto. I decided my first order of business was to wire up some efans. My dad and I have built several engines in the past, along the way we built an engine stand capable of running an engine. Complete with dual electric fans. We haven't done too much with it so I thought I would try to figure out what the fan came out of. It was stamped with FoMoCo I know... but hey, it was free. Called ford with the part number and they said the best they could tell it was a set from an exploder. So I figure if itll cool that, itll cool a 4.8.
I got a PCM from blackbear that has the pins turned on. I followed a wiring diagram I found here and just could not for the life of me get it to work correctly. Blew a fuse every time the relay energized for fan 1. Fan 1 and fan 2 were wired identically so I wouldn't figure out why one worked and the other didnt. I used mini blade fuses between the battery constant and the relays. 30 Amps and it blew every time. This is after about 5 hours of work (due to struggling with the security relearn). I am lucky to have a friend that works at holley in project car development. He was here today and we tore the harness down rebuilt it with just a diagram for a fan relay. Changed some things around and it STILL was blowing fuses, but for fan 2 this time. We decided something had to give and just removed the mini blade fuse holders between the battery constant and relay, and replaced them with maxi fuses. Started it up and the fans didn't kick on. No fuses blown though. Poked around and found the relay for fan 1 wasn't energizing. Turned on the AC and fan 2 fired right up no problems. Put it out in the sun let it get up to operating temperature ad fan 1 kicked on as well. Truck never got over 210 degrees. Ive put it through a few heat cycles since then and it still isn't reaching over 210. Im happy with it now. as long as both fans work and it doesn't overheat, I am happy.
I guess this was a pointless thread but it might help somebody else!

I will post some up tonight. The fans fit absolutely perfect with no modifications at all. I was so surprised but they sat against the core perfectly.

I also got a near perfect fitting ford fan, a big single out of an early 90's tbird. 2speed, works great. Covers rad top to bottom, and all but 2 inches on either side. $25 from the pick n' pull
