Default Multifunction Temp Gauge

Had a thought today. I was looking into installing a trans temp gauge but would also like an oil temp gauge for when I put the turbo on. Has anyone bought just one gauge and used a switch to switch between sending units? For example, install temp sending units in the water, oil, trans, diff, etc, and use a rotary switch to pass one of these signals to the gauge. You could read all the temps with one gauge basically. It would be cheaper and take less space than one gauge for each.

Anyone done this? Thoughts?
