Unhappy Manual to power locks

So My truck came with the manual windows and

manual locks and i would like to convert to power windows and locks I called

my local Tint/audio/alarm shop and i asked if i brought them and had them

install the door panels with the buttons for the windows and locks and i

bought all the parts i needed can my truck have power locks/windows. they

told me no it wouldn't work. that i would have to get like some special

switches or a kit that they sell and idk what bull crap but the point is they

just drill holes where they would normally go, but i don't like the way they

look. anyways are they just saying this so i could buy their stuff or are they

telling me the truth? I would like to stay OEM Cause if its just installing

switches and powering motors/solenoids i'm pretty sure i can do it myself. All i

would need is to buy the door panels and all the parts that i would need from

the junkyard, i can get everything way cheaper than the price they told me. I

would like to install my alarm soon but it kinda sucks that i don't have power

locks :/

From a power window/lock truck you need:
power window regulators
power lock door latches
door harnesses
door panels and switches
dash harness
BCM

Dont for got the Factory programing... If you plug it in it will most likely not recognize the used BCM. It will need to be re- programed with your vin for the security. Other wise it may not let the truck start.

A simple VATS relearn should take care of that. PCMs on these older trucks aren't as picky as the newer ones.

Lol remember when we had this problem while i was doing my swap and my truck didn't wanna send electricity to the coils to fire it up.... man that was annoying!

You mean

Insert key, attempt to start the vehicle and leave the key in the ON position.
In some vehicles, the Battery and Security light will blink for several seconds, and then shut off. Then the Security light will then remain ON. Leave the ignition ON until the Security light goes OFF. This will take more than 5 mins.
When the Security light goes OFF, turn the ignition to the OFF position.
Leave ignition OFF for 20 Seconds.
Attempt to start the vehicle again and leave the key in the ON position.

Once this entire procedure has been completed (three times) your vehicle will start on the fourth attempt.
Note: Some vehicles perform the relearn in a different sequence. You may notice your security light, battery light and abs light will alternate. Once the security light is left out of the sequence that is considered one step. Repeat the procedure two more times and on the fourth time your vehicle will start.
