MAF question

Needing a new one. I had an extra sitting around for a long time and got rid of it, now needing a new one. Mine is acting up lately. I have one from a 98 laying around, that one wouldnt work on my 04 would it? I quess I will have to visit the pull a part and look for one unless someone here has an extra one around.

Having idle problems that started a few days ago. Cleaned the maf and throttle body, that afternoon CEL came on. Had the codes read, lean on banks 1 and 2. Recleaned the Maf, CEL went off last night when I left work. This morning, no CEL. Then around noon, truck idle problem came back and light came back on. Seems to be having this problem in the heat of the day, but when its cool out it runs fine. I put gas at a place I normally dont the other day and the stuff didnt really even smell like gasoline. I figure the MAF is causing me problems causing the truck to run lean and idle low. I am going to also check the plugs and o2 sensors tommorow. Plugs have 30,000 on them.

UPDATE: Got up this morning and pulled the plugs. They had a little carbon on them, but not bad and the color was good on them. Pulled the K&N intake off, recleaned the MAF real good, cleaned the throttle body again also. Cleaned and oiled the airfilter. Pulled the o2s, they had a lot of carbon on them, possibly from the seafoam treatment. Cleaned them and started the truck. Idle was much better, ran smooth. Let it run about 5 minutes and the light went off. So it was either the MAF, or the o2s. I will see how its running on the way to work this afternoon.

Good deal.I am not sure how many miles you have on the truck, but if you have over 100,000 miles it never hurts to go ahead and relplace the front o2's,alot of people may not but it never hurts, thats for sure.Even if they are not lazy yet,I still replace them
