LS1 edit, any good?

LS1 edit, any good?
A buddy of mine has the LT1 edit, going to get him to check on an upgrade. My question is, is it any good? I m not trying for a dragster, just some minor tuning. I was going to go with wait4me but dont like what Ive been reading lately.

My opinion is get HP Tuners.
from what I have seen it is much easier to use..
more user friendly..

But he already has edit and knows how to use it. Do you still recommend the hp tuners? I m new to this and since he does his own tunes, I figured he d be able to help me. Plus itd be cheaper for me to just buy the upgrade for his. Or am I wrong on that also?
