Default left tail light not working

i have a 2000 silverado and for the life of me i cant figure out why my brake light and the left side of the 3rd brake light is out. i checked the bulbs and they are good. replaced them just to be sure and still nothing. checked the fuse and it to was good. still i replaced it and nothing. pulled the 4 connections under the bed and cleaned them and reinstalled them and still nothing. i have no power at either connection. am i missing something?

GM had a recall on the "harness" for those. '99 through '06, maybe? It's something like that. I got a notice in the mail about it for my crew cab.

Do you have trailer wiring added to your truck? If so, what style/design is it? Pics would be helpful if you do have it. I'll post a wiring diagram for you also, maybe it will help you.
