Lean Burn
#1
how easy is it to burn up rings by leaning a truck out? I switched to a 2bar map and got my scalar close, but not perfect, then saved the tune. then i put on a custom os w/ efilive and put the tune i had just made on to it. I did everything that it sed to do (that i understood) and the truck would kinda shakily. I decided to just drive it (not sober, otherwise i never would have) and it ended up not wanting to start again at the store. so my buddy had to tow me home. It did not smell rich, so im figuring i leaned it out. It wouldnt stay running, and tapping the throttle automatically killed it. It runs now w/ the original os on it, and it runs fine. Would i know if i had damaged something by leaning it out? What should i look for on my plugs if not?
ps, worst part of it all... buddy towing me drives a ford. 4.6 at that.

IF it was a too lean scenario it was more than likely all in the lower map regions were not much hp or tq is being produced...as long as you didn't get on it or make it try to produce alot of HP, you are probably okay. It would definitely do alot stumbling having too lean of a ve table.
When tuning the ve table I always forget and change the settings in the 400/800 rpm areas and it screws up my idle something fierce. Makes for a horrible driving scenario. You have a wideband?
Pull the plugs and make sure they aren't fried. Just depends on how you drove it. 20 miles of laying into it, you might have caused some damage.

no, it was only about 3/4 of a mile, just from my house to the store. it went to the store fine, but when i went to leave it wouldnt even start. i just ran the starter for a little and was tapping the throttle trying to get it to rev up, and could only get it up to about 2500 and fall on its face.
