I got the DTC's all reset, so I have no DTC;s currently, and limited the rpm's to 1500 and it engages reverse and drive now but for the second or two it takes to engage it hits the rev limiter at 1500 and the when it engages a gear it surges like it engaging and disengaging. I tried to do a trans adapt reset in hp tuners but i'm not sure I did it correct. I couldn't tell anything was going on, I saw in a video I was supposed to shift to reverse coulnt to 10, then drive count to 10 and to park. Any ideas would be greatly appricieated.

Ok new update I jacked up the truck and unplugged the accelerator pedal and let the transmission turn the tires in reverse and drive. I know it was in reduced power mode but it didn't rev up or surge at all and turned the tires fine. Hooked the pedal back up and when shifting from park to reverse it idles high then when it engages reverse while holding the brake the engine surges but when I let off the brake it stops surging and spins the tires fine. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the engine and transmission as a unit, thats all I got. I had a guy built my harness to supply me with an ecu, pedal, and he programmed my TCU. The pedal I got was bad n it would go into reduced power mode and would rev high. I got a new pedal and now in park and neutral it idles normal and you can rev it with the pedal like normal, but as soon as u take it out of park it revves high and then when it engages a gear it suges the rpm up and down and as soon as you go back to park or neutral rpm goes back below 1000 rpm and runs fine again.
