Jumpy idle with AC or heat on
#1
Ever since i put the blower and cam in my truck I've been having problems with the idle when i have either the heat or air conditioning on. The rpms drop pretty low and then pop back up and repeat over and over and it makes driving it on a hot day pretty frustrating so i stopped using the AC. But with the temps getting hotter i dont think i can deal with it much longer.
This problem is just at idle and is fine when i start going. And it drives fine with no AC on. Also when i first turn the ac on a little bit it doesnt start to idle funny right away but as soon as the efans come on it starts to go crazy.
It's a 2004 5.3L with a whipple and 216/224 .551/.551 on 115LSA
Any help?

It's the pull of the A/C compressor and/or e-fans doing it. There are several tables in tuning to play with to help. Things that are real detailed and take time to play with that I would find a tuning shop not doing unless they are extra particular. IDLE air flow I think is the big one. There are also tq tweaks for the A/C compressor and e-fans. Over the years I've found that the adaptive idle learning goes a long way helping also.
