Default Hypertech Max Energy Programmer

I'm needing some input guys. I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 and purchased this programmer for it. I'm needing input on what settings to use to get the best performance as far as power and speed. Where should I set the rev limiter, shift points, shift firmness and all at? Hope you all can help me out. Thanks In Advance!!!

well, to be nice, your best bet is to sell that unit for as much as you can. If you have the 5.3L and your 8th digit of your VIN is a "B" you won't see any gains...Trust me, that's what got me to this forum.

If you want to give it a go then choose the high test fuel, bump shift points up as far as you can. Set rev limit up too.

My bet is that if you stick around for one week on this forum you will be ordering a tune from one of our illustious sponsors

Sorry...a lot of us have made the same mistake. Don't get me wrong, Hypertech is what it is but to see real gains your best bet is to contact one of the site sponsors whose banners fly to the right ------------------>

BlackBear
Wheatly
Nelson.

Really, welcome to the site. Stick around, read all you can and ask questions after searching. There's a lot of great info here. You and I have the same basic truck, you can see what I have done by clicking my sig. No need to go as extreme, I got a little carried away

By the way, you have an L33 5.3L HO engine. You have a great platform for performance with better heads than the other 5.3Ls stock.
