EFI has more on some controllers and HP has more on some, I am seeing that HP has more parameters on the newer platforms.

thanks for the input guys. I'll be taking the tuning thing slow and easy, I dont wanna break stuff just yet. My primary goal for the truck is the Cresson Motorsports Ranch track near Fort Worth. I like hitting the twisties and wanna do it in the truck.

better concentrate on upgrading the brakes. I'm willing to bet you could roast a set of stock brakes on a truck @ cresson

yeah, I've got a pile of brake parts laying in my house for the upgrade. I'm just waiting to get enough monies to get bigger wheels. I roasted a set of stock brakes on a CBR1000rr at cresson one summer. I dont know how the truck brakes even being upgraded will handle the track.

My vote goes to EFI live. I personally think online support is much better for EFI live. The interface isn't quite as pretty as HP tuners, but it's extremely intuitive and easy to use.

I use & recommend HPTuners, there's ALOT of help for HPT users online. I'm not that bright, and I've learned enough to use it with good results.

Both are good tools to have. As mentioned earlier, find somebody local to you that's tuning, and find out what they are using. Ask for a demo, and ask if he/she would be willing to help you out occasionally. That may help you make a decision.

3. if you decide to sell interface in future, they sell like hot bread.
4. most books, dvd's, guides, seminars are based on hp tuners.

but you pick your poison, they both do the same thing..
1. lot more beginers with HPT// lots of major shops use EFI
2. more people and post on HPT but more worthless posts also
3. both sell really fast BUT always seems more HPT for sale
4. more for hpt but more and more for efi all the time

I personally use both and like and dislike things about each. They both have always had great customer service anytime I have needed them. In the end you can't go wrong with either...the user of the software determines the quality of the tune more than the software.

This is reassuring LOL

You did an amazing job on my tune, looking forward to tweaking it more once I get the wideband installed.
