If he doesn't he could monitor the TPS connector with a multimeter for the volatage to change in response to throttle change.

I "think" there are two different circuits. one 0-5 and one 5-0... but yea, good point...

Forgot its a DBW tb, it might be more compicated as there isn't exactly a TPS sensor per se.

Thanks,

I have an old Diablo Predator that has a pretty good scanner, I'll look to see if it displays PID's. What does PID stand for?

She is not tossing codes but has a studder at take off occasionally, and only when kind of on the cold side.

The TPS is located on the gas pedal.

PID stands for Proportional, Integral, Derivative

P Proportional Band = 100/gain
I Integral = 1/reset (units of time)
D Derivative = rate = pre-act (units of time)

Just a formula

PID

PID = Parameter Identifier = A single unit of information that may be retrieved from the ECM/PCM.

Such as:
VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor
MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor
O2 = Narrow Band Oxygen Sensor

Thanks,

I put my Diablo handheld in live diagnostics and do have a throttle angle readout.
With motor off and key in run position it's reading 15%. This normal? I also get a smooth progression if I slowly press the pedal.

Whatcha think?

be sure the pid you are looking at is actual tps angle. There are a number of pids that have to do with tps, some will not read 0-100% but will start out at 15% or so and only go up to 80% or so...
