I like HP tuners more. Like stated above they do the same thing and both have around the same degree of learning curve required to tune.
Both programs offer great customer service with highly involved user forums for technical advice and general learning techniques.
My sole reason for deciding HP or EFI live is the display format. EFI live has this windows 95 looking menu that I do not favor vs HP tuners.
Thats my only complaint and it may have changed now, IDK
EFI live IMO looks to offer more updates and innovations vs. HP tuners as well which should be considered when choosing software.
Once again, this is just my personal opinion.

Locally, as in on this forum, EFI live has better support IMO. I'm very happy with EFI live

they should joint together and take over the tuning world..mauahahahahaha... sorry. lol

All I heard the difference's is HPT is little easier to use. But if you have patience to learn and understand how to use it I prefer EFIlive. But either way there are guys on here that will help you with either.

Not a valid question, sorry.I would say it's probably more relative to ask who uses which one than to ask which is better. Both are capable of doing what we need. and like stated above the differences lie mostly in their displays and interface.

EFI can be downloaded for free, it's the hardware you pay for. HPT has demo video. If you ask my advice I'd tell you to buy the one your best friend uses

I have HPT and am now just using it after looking at it for a year or so.

I guess I should have worded it differently. I'm just wanting to hear people's opinion on the two. I can see what people mean now that I realize how I worded my original question. I really appreciate everyone's input. I'm still undecided though so if anyone else has anything to add i'd love to hear it. Thanks

I have used both, EFI Live hands down... The scanner on EFI Live IMO is alot better and easier to read than HPTuners... Since the scanner portion is the piece that you will spend countless hours staring at, that should an important thing to remember.

I don't think either one is "easier" to use, just have different interfaces. Its like your cell phone. You know how to use everything on YOUR phone, but you get a new, different brand that has a little different setup and it's completely different to you. Again, I have both both and prefer EFILive, that's why I sell it. I find the scanner much nicer in EFILIve, again, personal preference. Also, there is no LCD display on the HPTunners box

If you decide on EFILive, hit me up and I'll make ya a nice deal

Yes, I black box log with mine all the time. It will show all the PID's you are logging on the LCD, or just the AFR, ect. It's really nice.

They are currently private beta testing the newest V8 BBLogging software which is going really well and as soon as its done, they will be beta testing the BBflashing and reading
