Default Help please

I am building a motor its a 350 4 bolt main. i putting a comp u roller cam in it thats going to be custom grind buy bullet. one question i got is can the computer on the truck add the timing that i need to the motor. will everything correspond with each other. i got people telling me to throw a demon 1,000 4 barral on the truck but i like my fuel injection. Next is there anyone in florida that could tune the truck for me after the motor is complete the truck is a 97 vortech 2500. and im just concern if the computer will give it the correct fuel and timing if tuned correcly

IMO you'll be better off with the carb swap. The main problem with the R motors is the fuel pressure regualtor in the manifold, and fuel injectors are poppets, can't tune to much. When running a big cam your vaccumm drops at idle and then the motor maxes fuel pressure. I put a small cam in my old 97 and it never ran right. Just my 2cents

I know the Vortec intakes were TONS better than the TBI..But I think they can only "reliably" support around 350 rwhp , before they start and run out of air/fuel IIRC. overall consensus is the tuning/fuel is limited/finicky .You can do the marine intake swap ..but I do not know a whole lot about that..Contact one of our board sponsors for efi tuning needs, If they can't do it, I am sure thet can lead you in the right direction..
-Throw a cammed 5.3 in there and save $ and be reliable, make more HP...

ive thought about a cammed out 5.3 but the truth is if im going to do a motor swap ill put a duramax in it and be done with it. For right now im trying to take the cheap way out. ive got all the motor stuff a compucam pistions rods crank and all. i was going to make a destroke 383. my main concern was the fuel injection. the cam comes 4 degress advanced. then i need to tune the computer to never go over 32 degress of timing @ wot. If i knew more about tunning gassers i would try it. Maybe i will go and try it anyways and report back to you guys what all i had to do. If nothing eles i got this other intake with this demond 1,000 ready to go on. but if yall have any other suggestions let me no.
